Little ABC is a Fulldome series of three episodes: “The Light”, “The Clouds” and “The Meteorites”. The themes used are those that are most accessible for these youngsters, developed in a way that arouses interest and stimulates the senses to boost their understanding of their
surroundings in a world that is full of so many questions. Various resources are used to achieve such goal, including character animation, a cartoon-like aesthetic, music and children songs.

Along the way, the students learn the history of the telescope from Galileo’s modifications to a child’s glass — using two small pieces of glass — to the launch of the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and the future of astronomy. Aiming to engage and appeal to audiences of all ages, the show explores the wonder and discovery made by astronomers throughout the last 400 years. Heliophysics is the main component of the Sunstruck! Planetarium show. It includes information on the sun, parts/layers, space weather and its impact on Earth. The audience should gain an enhanced understanding of the Sun and how it impacts our world.

Phantom of the Universe is a new planetarium show that showcases an exciting exploration of dark matter, from the Big Bang to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider. It describes the astral choreography witnessed by Vera Rubin in the Andromeda galaxy and then plummets deep underground to see the most sensitive dark matter detector on Earth, housed in a former gold mine. From there, it journeys across space and time to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, speeding alongside particles before they collide in visually stunning explosions of light and sound, while learning how scientists around the world are collaborating to track down the constituents of dark matter.

The Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition is hosted by the Royal Observatory Greenwich, attracting entries from the best astrophotography’s in the world. 2015 was the seventh year of the competition, receiving more than 2700 images from 59 different countries. Each year, the planetarium team create a short show featuring shortlisted and winning images from the competition. It can be used narration free,  allowing presenters to use the content as they see ft.

The Categorization of Dwarf Planets sets the world in two parts… one who loved Pluto as planet and the others who preferred simpler cataloging of celestial bodies … Dwarf planets are the worlds too small to be considered as full-fledged planets, but large enough to be classified as Asteroids. These are the Ancient Relics of our Solar System. They were born the same way as our Eight Planets, but somehow along the way, they stopped developing further. Supernovas Company is a cosmic tragicomedy for children. The script is written in verse and features Kurioseo Kuirosei and his friend Flamigero Piroteus. Together they have a cosmic adventure, in a highly peculiar setting, in which they have to overcome the traps and puzzles of the diabolical Vampirina. She is the leader of an army of vampire stars that cause havoc in the supernova factory that kindly Flamigero keeps in a corner of a hidden away galaxy. An original and fun story to delight everyone.

Cycle is a short fulldome piece which uses time lapse photography to reveal the majesty
of Earth’s natural environments. It’s a subtle meditation on how a small shift in our perception of time can heighten our awareness of the intricate ecosystem surrounding us. The cycle emerges. Prior to teaching the Mass Art 2015 course, Eric wanted to get more in-depth experience with fulldome production. So he spent the summer camping and shot a bunch of beautiful time lapse photography with a fisheye lens. Then he selected the best time lapse shots, did some tests in the dome, composed the music in 5.1 surround, and edited together this stunning piece for the dome.

“SEEING!” follows a photon’s creation and journey across the galaxy to a young stargazer’s eye. The viewer follows the photon into the girl’s eye, learning the structures of the eye and their functions, prior to taking a ride on the optic nerve. Dramatic fulldome imagery from around the globe featuring humanity, landscapes, skyscapes, wildlife and space will be used to create the story. Along the way the program examines how the eye works, how technology has enabled us to restore vision and prevent a variety of diseases that affect sight.

The search for dark matter is the most pressing astrophysical problem of our time – the solution to which will help us understand why the Universe is as it is, where it came from, and how it has evolved over billions of years – the unimaginable depths of deep time, of which a human life is but a flickering instant. But in that instant, we can grasp its immensity and, through science, we can attempt to understand it. The movie is presented by Dr Alan Duffy, a brilliant young astronomer from the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) at the University of Western Australia – who creates simulations of dark matter evolution inside supercomputers. Alan introduces us to the idea of dark matter, why astronomers think it exists, and explains why radio astronomy is so well-suited to its discovery.
